Welcome to Bowmaker Pulis!
Bowmaker Puli Kennel was established in 1976 in Apopka,
Florida. In 1981, we relocated to our present rural location
in Tennessee in order to be closer to family and provide a country setting for
our kennel. We have bred over 25 litters and produced numerous champion
and obedience titled dogs as well as Pulis who excel in agility, herding and
companionship. We believe that temperament is the single most important quality
to consider when selecting breeding stock. A Puli must have a stable temperament
to be able to perform the many tasks for which he is bred in this country.
Unlike the Hungarian sheepdog of the plains, Pulis in the US must live in a
populous society and get along peacefully with humans and other dogs. This
is a picture of Ch. Bowmaker's Hetyke CD, our first
Puli.
We never forgive a bad temperament at Bowmaker and breed only
the best Pulis, sound in mind, body and spirit. We want our Pulis to do it ALL
and believe that correct structure, an indomitable spirit, and an eagerness to
please one’s human are qualities that we want to preserve in this breed. This
belief is the basis of our breeding program which started with the dogs listed
on the Foundation Dogs page.

champion.
